Sveriges Internationella Talanger (SIT) concentrates educated foreigners* into a talent pool which makes it easier for companies to find them. We offer them a forum to exchange information, make contacts and connect to the business world. SIT was founded in April 2014 to help our members succeed in the Swedish labor market. The organization wants to contribute to a positive change in terms of integration and gives educated foreigners a voice.
To become a member, one needs to born outside of Sweden, have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, and have studied Swedish. One can join through our LinkedIn group and needs a complete LinkedIn profile (that includes a photo, summary statement describing strengths and goals, all work rolls and university degrees listed, as well as all languages known -and at what level).
In our talent pool, all have bachelor's degrees, nearly 70% have masters degrees, and 10% have PhDs. We represent 90 nationalities with a collective knowledge of 60 languages. Members have an average of 8 years of professional experience in a variety of fields and branches.
*Note: the term "akademiker" is used in Swedish to refer to those who have at least a college degree. In English, an academic refers to someone with a career in research, science, teaching (as a PhD) and so on. "Utländska akademiker" is the term often used to describe those who are foreign born and university educated. Sveriges Internationella Talanger är en organisation för och av utländska akademiker which means that the Board has experienced the same frustrations as its members and has created this group to help all of us learn about the labor market and succeed in it.
